Custom-Made Refrigeration Technologies
The refrigeration technologies we design and manufacture are fully tailored to each client and each project.
Pumped / Recirculated Systems
The ideal solution for medium to large-scale systems, especially those requiring very low temperatures, or used in critical industrial applications where refrigeration is mission-critical, such as maintaining meat production lines or vaccine storage conditions.
Key Benefits:
- Among the most reliable, durable, and efficient systems in the industry
- Delivers consistent pressure and temperature for predictable and controlled performance
- Superior heat transfer enables higher-performing evaporators
Direct Expansion (DX)
Best suited for small to medium-sized systems, DX technology is often the go-to solution for commercial applications and liquid chillers.
Key Benefits:
- Easily accommodates multiple temperature levels within the same system
- A lighter and more compact system requiring lower refrigerant charge
- Often the most cost-effective option in terms of upfront investment
Cascade Systems
This dual-circuit technology is available in both pumped and direct expansion (DX) configurations. It uses two separate refrigeration loops, each with its own refrigerant. The first (e.g., CO2) transfers its heat to the second loop (e.g., NH3), which then rejects the heat outdoors or to a heat recovery system.
By leveraging the optimal thermodynamic properties of each refrigerant in their respective performance ranges, this system can provides higher energy efficiency than single-refrigerant systems.
Key Benefits:
- Enhanced efficiency in specific applications or climate conditions
- Ex.: A CO2/NH3 cascade system can outperform a 100% NH3 system at ultra-low temperatures (e.g., -50 °F)
- Ex.: In hot climates, a CO2/NH3 cascade can be more energy-efficient than a full CO2 system

Our Preferred Refrigerants
Thanks to our in-depth mastery of both natural and synthetic refrigerants, we’re able to select the solution best suited to each application, designing optimized, safe systems that align perfectly with our clients’ specific needs
CO2
Ammonia
A time-tested natural refrigerant, ammonia is known for its high thermodynamic efficiency and widespread availability. Its long-standing use in industrial and commercial refrigeration makes related equipment easy to source and cost-effective. Ammonia refrigeration is particularly well-suited for industrial applications and artificial ice surfaces, where it remains, along with CO2, a go-to solution for performance and reliability.
Other Refrigerants
Although we prioritize natural refrigerants, our versatility, desire, and ability to respond swiftly to client needs with flexible solutions lead us to use synthetic refrigerants when it’s the most suitable option. We are also increasingly integrating other natural refrigerants, such as hydrocarbons.
